Arcade Pong Deluxe is pong against a built-in opponent, played full-screen with a paddle and a ball. You slide your paddle along one side and the AI holds the other, and a point is scored whenever one of you misses. The AI is not a wall - it returns with an angle rather than a flat bounce, so rallies get steeper and faster the longer they run, and the ball's angle off your own paddle is the only thing you control about where it goes next. That is the defensive skill the game is built on: hitting with the edge of the paddle sends the ball away sharply, hitting with the centre sends it back almost flat, and choosing between those two is how you make the AI run for it. Points accumulate until the match ends, and the difficulty curve comes from the rally itself rather than from a level select. A match takes two to five minutes.
