Cookie Clicker is the classic browser idle game in which your single stated goal is accumulating the largest possible cookie count. You start by clicking a large cookie graphic to generate cookies one at a time, then spend them on 18 types of production buildings, ranging from cursors and grandmas at the low end to time machines and antimatter condensers at the high end. Each building generates cookies per second automatically while you are away. Upgrades, purchased with cookies from a separate upgrade shop, multiply the output of specific buildings or your click value, and over 500 upgrades exist in total. Prestige mechanics let you reset your save for permanent multipliers, enabling exponential growth across multiple runs. A first playthrough reaches the mid-game in roughly 2 to 4 hours of active play; full prestige optimization is an ongoing process measured in days. Achievements number over 500 and track milestones from 1 cookie to sextillions. Runs entirely in browser, no installation needed, and progress saves automatically.
