The Battle is the classic card game War, where the deck splits evenly between two players and each round both flip their top card simultaneously. Higher card takes both, and ties trigger a battle where each player lays down additional cards before flipping again. The player who collects the entire deck wins. Controls are minimal, usually a single click or tap to flip, so the game runs itself and the player just watches the cards turn and responds to battles when they occur. There is no skill in the traditional sense since card order is random, but that is exactly the point. The tension comes from watching a long winning streak suddenly reverse, and a single lucky battle can swing the whole match. Two-player mode against a friend at the same keyboard is where it shines, turning a simple card flip into a reason to trash-talk. A full game can take anywhere from five minutes to twenty depending on how the cards fall. It suits anyone who wants a low-effort, social way to pass time.
