Turkish draughts plays on a standard 64-square board but all movement goes horizontally and vertically, never diagonally, which changes the geometry of the whole game. Each player starts with sixteen pieces arranged on the second and third rows. You slide pieces forward or sideways to capture by jumping over opponents, and pieces reaching the back row promote to kings that can travel multiple squares in a straight line. You can face the AI or share a device with a second player for local matches, and the goal is to capture all enemy pieces or leave them with no legal move. Players familiar with standard draughts will need to rebuild their instincts here because the orthogonal movement creates very different attack and defense patterns. Flanking threats come from unexpected angles, and protecting a cluster of pieces is harder than it looks. The AI provides a reasonable challenge for beginners but experienced board-game players will likely beat it consistently. A match runs ten to twenty minutes, and because there is no time pressure you can sit and think, making it a good fit for patient, methodical players.
