College Basketball Games Today

College Basketball Games Today is arcade basketball with cartoon graphics and characters modelled on famous players. It runs on the conventions of the genre rather than on simulation: matches are fast, dunks and three-pointers are the normal way to score, and steals come quickly enough that possession changes hands constantly. The main mode is two-player on one screen, where the two of you share a keyboard and the pace turns frantic in a way the AI opponent never manages - an AI defender reacts on a fixed rule, while a friend anticipates what you are about to do. Solo play against the computer is there for learning the timing, since shooting and passing both depend on release rather than on a meter you can watch. Games are short, two to five minutes, which suits the format and keeps sessions quick.
