Dark War is a top-down action RPG set in a modern world where magic and exorcism sit alongside ordinary life. You are a member of an old demon-hunter order, and the game runs on a task system rather than a single storyline: a board of missions tells you which gatekeeper demon to find, where to look, and what the job involves, and you work through them at your own pace. Combat happens from above, with you moving in, closing on the demon and whatever it brought with it, and managing abilities that each have their own timing. The gatekeepers are the only enemies that demand real attention, since ordinary ones mostly exist to drain your resources before you reach them. Mission descriptions spell out the objective, so reading before you commit saves a wasted trip across the map. Progress comes from clearing tasks and improving your hunter, and the board hardens as you take more of it on.
