SCARS is a 2D top-down arcade racing game playable in a browser with no download required. You steer a compact turbo city car using arrow keys or WASD, with a dedicated drift button and a rechargeable boost meter that fills as you slide through corners. Races take place across more than a dozen tracks spanning urban street circuits, neon-lit night loops, and stylized futuristic highways, each between 60 and 90 seconds long at competitive pace. Up to four AI opponents race alongside you; position at the finish determines a star rating of one to three, and three-star results unlock the next track tier. The difficulty curve is front-loaded: early tracks are wide and forgiving, while later circuits add tight hairpins, oncoming hazards, and reduced grip surfaces. Boost is earned by drifting, not by pickups, which keeps the skill ceiling meaningful. Cartoon 2D visuals run at smooth framerates on mid-range hardware. A full championship across all tracks takes roughly 25 to 40 minutes.
