Viking Guard is a grid-based puzzle game where you position Norse warrior pieces to block advancing enemy units before they breach your settlement. Each level presents a fixed board with a set number of guards you can place. Enemies follow predetermined paths, so the job is reading those routes and placing your fighters at choke points. Some warriors have area attacks, others hold a single tile, and figuring out which type goes where is the core puzzle. You get a star rating based on how many enemies you stopped, and a perfect clear requires zero breaches. Early stages teach the basics gently, but difficulty spikes arrive without much warning around the midgame. The key insight most players miss early is that overlapping guard coverage is almost always wasteful — spreading thin across the map beats clustering. Each puzzle takes one to three minutes to solve once you understand it, though the first attempt on a tricky level often ends in failure. It suits players who enjoy light tactical thinking and do not mind replaying a stage several times to find the right configuration. Sessions feel complete after four or five levels.
