Dream Football Game puts you on the attacking end of the pitch. You control one player, usually the striker, and the modes break football into its individual situations rather than asking you to run a full eleven-a-side match: penalty kicks, free kicks from set positions, and open sequences where you have a short window to create a chance. Controls are split across the keyboard - WASD or the arrow keys to move, K to sprint, N for a short pass, M for a long pass, and the spacebar to shoot. Ball physics do most of the work in deciding outcomes: a struck ball keeps its pace and lifts depending on how you meet it, so blasting at the keeper is usually a save while a placed side-foot finish into the corner is not. Sprinting past a defender costs you accuracy on the next touch, which is the trade-off the game keeps asking you to make. The modes are short, one to three minutes each.
