Kitty House Escapist is a room-escape game where you are the cat, which cleverly inverts every convention of the genre: you have no inventory and no hands, you have paws, curiosity, and a house full of physics objects. Escape routes are diegetic, claw the window latch, knock the bookshelf into a climbing route, squeeze the too-heavy door by pushing a chair against it as a lever. Rooms escalate from the bedroom tutorial to a kitchen full of hazards that are hazards specifically to a cat, the stove, the garbage disposal, and the physics comedy of failed attempts is where half the fun lives. The hint system is a slow zoom toward the next interactable, elegant enough that we never felt lectured. Point and click, mobile-friendly, free online, no download.
