Neon Assault is a vertical-scrolling arcade shooter that runs in the browser with no installation. You pilot a neon-styled spaceship upward through continuously spawning waves of alien enemies, maneuvering with arrow keys or WASD while firing automatically or manually with the spacebar. Every 5 waves a boss appears with a distinct attack pattern and a visible health bar, requiring positional awareness rather than pure speed. Power-ups drop from destroyed enemies and include spread shots, shields, and rate-of-fire boosts, each lasting 10 to 20 seconds. Consecutive kills without taking damage build a combo multiplier that increases your score per kill up to 5 times the base value. Coins earned in each run persist between sessions and can be spent in a between-run shop to unlock 12 ship skins with minor stat variations. Enemy count and projectile speed increase noticeably after wave 10. A typical run lasts 5 to 15 minutes depending on difficulty progression and player skill.
