Guardz IO drops you into a top-down medieval free-for-all where you move your knight around the map, swing a sword at nearby enemies, and collect the XP orbs they drop. Kills and orbs push you through twelve named ranks from Page up to King's Champion, and your position on the live leaderboard updates constantly. Controls are straightforward — move with keyboard or joystick, attack automatically or on input — but positioning and timing your swings against multiple opponents at once is where the game gets demanding. Lower-ranked players can actually land hits on higher-ranked ones, so never assume you are safe just because you have levelled up. Staying near the edges of skirmishes to pick off weakened opponents is more reliable than charging into crowds. A run lasts until you die, which can happen in seconds or stretch to several minutes depending on how the lobby plays out. Restarts are instant. It suits players who enjoy short competitive loops and the satisfaction of watching a rank title change after a good streak.
