Nightfall Horde is a browser-based top-down horror shooter in which zombie hordes close in from the top of the screen and both sides simultaneously. You move your character by pointing the mouse, which steers direction, and click to fire your weapon toward the cursor. Zombies begin arriving in groups of 5 to 10 during the first wave and double in density roughly every three waves. Shotgun power-ups spawn on the map floor as glowing crates; walking over one temporarily replaces your default pistol with a wide-spread shotgun for 15 seconds. Every fifth wave ends with a mutant boss zombie that absorbs significantly more bullets and charges faster than standard enemies. Surviving a boss wave clears the screen and advances you to the next stage. Your score compounds based on kill streaks maintained without taking damage. A full run from wave 1 to a game-over typically lasts 5 to 12 minutes depending on skill level. No installation is required; the game runs entirely in the browser.
