Match Cake 2D is a browser puzzle game in which you rearrange cake pieces on a 2D grid to form matching rows or columns of 3 or more identical types. You click one piece to select it, then click an adjacent piece to swap their positions. Completing a match removes those pieces and drops new ones from above to fill the gaps, similar to a match-3 format. The game is organized into levels; each level has a target score or a specific number of matches to complete before advancing. Early levels use 4 or 5 cake varieties on a small grid, while later levels expand the grid and introduce locked tiles and obstacle pieces that block swaps until cleared with adjacent matches. There is no real-time pressure in early stages, but some later levels impose a limited number of moves rather than unlimited turns, demanding efficient planning. A single level typically takes 2 to 5 minutes. No download is needed; the game runs directly in the browser. Progress through levels is tracked within the session.
