Space IO is a browser-based space shooter where you pilot a ship through an arena, taking down enemy ships and expanding your fleet. The mouse controls your direction and left-click fires — the ship follows your cursor, which takes a few minutes to feel natural but becomes intuitive quickly. The core goal is growing your fleet by destroying opponents while avoiding getting overwhelmed, and there's a real tension between playing aggressively to build up fast and playing conservatively to stay alive. Enemy ships vary in behavior, with some sitting still and others actively hunting you. It's best suited for players who like incremental growth mechanics wrapped in an action framework — each run feels like it has a satisfying arc from small lone ship to (hopefully) dominant fleet. The space setting is functional rather than elaborate, but the action stays readable even when the screen gets busy. Practical tip: hug the edges of the arena early on to limit the directions you can be attacked from while you build up your numbers. Chasing the biggest clusters of weak enemies is faster for growth than fighting tough single targets.
