Ultimate Chess is a complete chess implementation playable in the browser with no download required. It offers two modes: Player vs Player on the same device, where two people take turns using a shared mouse, and Player vs AI at three difficulty levels. Easy AI makes frequent positional errors and is suitable for beginners; Medium plays sound opening and middlegame moves; Hard uses deeper calculation and will punish tactical mistakes consistently. The board renders in a clean 2D interface. You click a piece to select it, then click a highlighted green square to move or a red square to capture an opponent's piece. The game enforces all standard rules including castling, en passant, and pawn promotion, presenting a selection menu when a pawn reaches the back rank. A move history panel on the side records the full game in algebraic notation. Check and checkmate are detected automatically and announced with a sound cue. A typical game against the Medium AI runs 15 to 25 minutes. There are no ads interrupting gameplay and the session state persists if you leave and return to the same browser tab.
