Castle Defense is a browser-based side-scrolling wave defense game where you choose one of several playable characters, including Severidric the wizard and Gendra the princess, each with a unique attack set. Waves of enemies including orcs, trolls, and bats march from the right side of the screen toward your castle gate. You click or tap to fire projectiles, aim with the mouse, and activate special abilities via numbered hotkeys. Enemies drop coins on defeat, and between waves a shop menu lets you spend coins on upgrades such as magical staffs, fireballs, and poison clouds. The game spans 20 waves of increasing enemy volume and speed, with armored boss variants appearing at waves 5, 10, 15, and 20. Each character has 3 upgradeable stats: damage, fire rate, and ability cooldown. A full playthrough at normal difficulty takes 25 to 40 minutes. The game runs in the browser with no install required, and your wave progress resets on exit since there is no save system.
