Pirates the Match 3 is a match-3 with a treasure map for a spine. You swap cannonballs, skulls and gold coins across boards framed as island loot runs, and the objectives travel with the theme: dig out buried chests by matching over sand, blast crates blocking the dig, collect gems before the tide, represented by a move limit, comes in. Chain matches fill a powder keg meter that detonates a row when full, and the four- and five-match power pieces combine in the genre's classic satisfying ways. The map progression is the hook, each island cleared advances a light story of chasing a rival crew, and boss levels against the ghost captain mix up the board rules just often enough to stay fresh.
